Wetlands

Wetlands Protection is an important part of preserving water quality and habitat for certain species. Use the Layer Control to see the locations of different types of wetland habitat.

Key:

Lacustrine: Wetlands associated with lakes
Riverine: Wetlands associated with rivers.
Palustrine: marsh or swamp lands.
Marine: Wetlands associated with ocean or open marine waters
Estuarine: Tidally-influenced semi-enclosed wetland habitat, often where fresh and saltwater meet. Notice how all Puget Sound is considered an estuary.
