Water Quality

Water Quality is declining in many areas of the Puget Sound basin. Select Water Quality Assessment Area to see locations that have been tested, select Waters of Concern to see areas where pollution is a concern but further study is needed. Select Impaired Waters to see which areas fail to meet water quality standards. When a waterway is classified as Impaired it means that it fails at least one water quality standard and has become dangerous to marine life and/or human health.

Select Monitored Recreational Beach to see which beaches are routinely tested for pollution.
