The mission of the Friends of Hurricane Creek is to promote the protection and rehabilitation of Hurricane Creek and its watershed. It is the home of the Hurricane Creekkeeper, the enforcement and investigative division of the Friends of Hurricane Creek. It is the duty of the Creekkeeper to inspect the watershed at regular intervals in search of problems associated with all possible sources of pollution.

The Hurricane Creekkeeper uses many surveillance tools while investigating complaints and suspicious activities. Aerial surveillance is an extremely useful tool when polluters hide their violations behind closed gates. The Hurricane Creekkeeper’s IMRiver mapsite is used to keep track of these investigations and to inform the public on both water quality issues affecting them and scenic locations that they may enjoy.
